Raphael Poon

Raphael Poon is a versatile vocalist and bassist whose musical journey blends classical and contemporary influences. He began his musical career with the upright and electric bass before discovering his passion for singing at Glendale Community College. Raphael earned his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from California State University, Fullerton, in 2018.
An active member of the Southern California music scene, Raphael sings with prestigious ensembles such as the Los Angeles Master Chorale and Pacific Chorale, and performs regularly at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. He is also known for his contributions as a bassist, often performing at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Pasadena. Throughout his career, Raphael has had the honor of working with renowned conductors including Esa-Pekka Salonen, Grant Gershon, John Williams, Robert Istad, and Gustavo Dudamel.
Outside of his musical endeavors, Raphael enjoys playing Magic: The Gathering and raising freshwater shrimp, adding a personal touch to his diverse range of interests. His passion for music and community continues to shape his artistry.
